The Chicago Throwbacks was founded March 1, 2007 by George Bellevue. Bellevue had been involved in community recreation leagues and noticed several talented players with no professional experience. Bellevue then formed the Chicago Throwbacks to give former local standout players a second chance to chase their dream of becoming a professional basketball player.
